Greetings from the Mayor

They must also inspect the conduct of each subordinate municipal officer and shall cause any negligence, carelessness, or other violation of duty to be prosecuted and punished. They must give City Council any information and shall recommend to the governing body any measure, that relates to improving the finances, police, health, security, cleanliness, comfort, ornament, or good environment of the municipality. The Mayor is also the emergency management director of the City.

Greetings from your Mayor Randall K. Decker –

It is an honor to serve as Mayor of Anahuac, a community with a proud history, caring people, and tremendous potential.  Anahuac is more than a place on a map; it is a community where families build their lives, neighbors look our for one another, and people take pride in calling this place home.  As Mayor, my commitment is to lead with transparency, accountability, and purpose, ensuring that our city government communicates openly, manages public resources responsibly, and follows through on the decisions made on behalf of our citizens.

Anahuac has an exciting future ahead of us.  Our location, history, natural resources, and strong community spirit provide a foundation for responsible growth and new opportunities. But realizing that potential requires planning and leadership. We must look beyond today and establish a clear vision for where we want Anahuac to be five, ten, and twenty years from now. That means addressing our infrastructure, roads and drainage, public facilities, economic development, and quality of life while protecting the small-town character that makes Anahuac special. We cannot simply react to problems as they arise, we must plan, prioritize, and follow through.

Most importantly, Anahuac has people who care. Our residents, businesses, churches, civic organizations, volunteers, and first responders continually demonstrate a commitment to making our community better.  City government should build on that spirit by listening to our citizens, encouraging participation, and working together toward a common vision. Transparency builds trust, accountability creates confidence, and leadership turns vision into action. There is work to be done, but there is also tremendous opportunity. Together, we can build a stronger, better-planned Anahuac and create a future worthy of the people who call this community home.

It is an honor to serve as your Mayor, and I look forward to leading Anahuac forward.
